Privacy Policy

What we collect

When you sign up, we store your email address and display name. That’s it for personal information. We need your email so you can log in and so we can reach you if something important happens with your account.

Your scripts are stored securely in our database so you can access them from any device. If you enable collaboration, your co-writers can see and edit the scripts you’ve shared with them — nobody else.

What we don’t do

• — We don’t sell your data. Not to advertisers, not to AI companies, not to anyone.
• — We don’t read your scripts. Your creative work is private.
• — We don’t use your content to train AI models.
• — We don’t track you across other websites.
• — We don’t run ads.

How we keep your data safe

All data is transmitted over HTTPS (encrypted in transit). Your scripts are stored in a Supabase database with row-level security — meaning the database itself enforces that only you (and your invited collaborators) can access your scripts. Even we can’t accidentally expose one user’s data to another.

Passwords are handled by Supabase Auth and are never stored in plain text.

Services we use

We rely on a small number of trusted services to run SottoWrite:

• — Supabase — database and authentication. Your scripts and account live here.
• — Stripe — payment processing. We never see or store your credit card number. Stripe handles all of that.
• — Vercel — hosting the web application.
• — Sentry — error tracking. When something breaks, Sentry helps us see what went wrong so we can fix it. This may include your IP address and basic browser information, but never your script content.
• — Google — if you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google. We don’t get access to your Google account beyond that.

Cookies

We use cookies only to keep you logged in. No tracking cookies, no analytics cookies, no third-party cookies. Just the ones that make the app work.

Your rights

You can export all your scripts at any time (Fountain, Final Draft, PDF, or plain text). You can delete your scripts from the dashboard. If you want your entire account deleted, email us at hello@sottowrite.com and we’ll take care of it.

Changes to this policy

If we make meaningful changes to this policy, we’ll let you know via email. We won’t quietly change the rules on you.
